Jacques Offenbach / Arr. Glen Tuomaala

I love this arrangement because it works.

It’s fun to play while still being challenging.

88 measures in the written key of F major.

Highest note in the First Horn part is a written “G”. Lots of technique and changes of dynamics; you have to play the dynamics correctly (no matter how fast you take it). I am begging you to play the dynamics correctly. Just do this.

And yes, the key to performing it Allegro is to play lightly and not too loud.

I’ve performed this arrangement with both a horn quartet and a large horn choir. Obviously, you can take it faster with a horn quartet.

It’s fun to play and there’s a “rip” near the end which we don’t get to do as often as we should. You know I’m right.
