Thomas Stephen Allen / Arr. Glen Tuomaala
Written in 1917 by Thomas Allen (1876-1919) who was an early Tin Pan Alley composer. He is the definition of what a prolific composer is all about having written hundreds of songs.
One of his most popular is “Whip and Spurs”, but “Round the Ring” should be in second place.
With multiple repeats, it will require stamina from the horn players and a strong grasp of technique. You can also double the first part if needed for strength.
It’s worth the time and effort. Fun to play.
